LATISSE Eyelash is the first FDA-approved prescription eyelash growth product that has been clinically proven to grow your eyelashes and make them longer, thicker, and fuller. Created by the manufacturer of Botox Cosmetic, LATISSE (bimatoprost ophthalmic solution) 0.03% is a major breakthrough formula in the eyelash enhancement world and it can dramatically enhance the length, thickness and fullness of your eyelashes.
Latisse is often prescribed to treat a condition known as eyelash hypotrichosis. Eyelash hypotrichosis results in the eyelashes growing inadequately. It can cause lashes to look brittle, pale, and short, and it can also result in eyelash loss from the lash line.
Is Latisse Right for Me?
If your lash line has bare patches and your eyelashes are thin, pale, short, or brittle, Latisse may be an excellent rejuvenation solution for you. The process takes time, so you must be committed to achieving effective results through regular use.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have an eye or skin infection, or are taking heart medication or antibiotics, speak to your doctor about these before considering Latisse.
The Latisse Application Process
The best time to apply Latisse is at night, before going to bed. Patients should apply Latisse an hour before going to bed so that the liquid solution has more than enough time for drying and soaking into the skin.
Before application of Latisse, patients must remove any skincare or cosmetic products from their faces. They must also remove contact lenses before application.
It only takes patients a couple of minutes every night to properly apply Latisse to their eyelashes. The Latisse application process is quite simple. The patient uses a single-use applicator to place a single drop of Latisse across the lash line of the upper eyelid. Another applicator must then be used to place a single drop across the lash line of the other eyelid. Sterile applicators are included with the medication.
Any excess solution can be blotted away carefully. Applicators must not be reused. Blinking effectively transfers the Latisse to the lower eyelids, so there is no need to apply any directly to the lower lids.
Just like with every other eye medication, patients must be careful while applying Latisse. If patients do not wash their hands and face first, or if they use unclean equipment, this can irritate the eyes and may lead to an eye infection.
After application, patients must wait for 15 minutes so that the Latisse can dry. They may then reinsert contact lenses or apply skincare products.
With Latisse, patients receive a step-by-step guide covering everything from cleanup to the optimal time for using the medication.
The Results of Latisse
Latisse works gradually and remarkably, with results already seen within four weeks and achieving full results after 16 weeks. Once you begin treatment, you could start to see results in as little as 4 weeks and then more results gradually over time. If you discontinue use of Latisse, results gradually fade.
The exact price of Latisse varies. Typically, a one-month supply of this prescription medication costs around $120. Speak with your doctor to learn more about the cost of Latisse.
